Integrity Before Influence: The Discipline of the Chosen

Integrity Before Influence: The Discipline of the Chosen

We love the idea of influence.
We don’t always love the discipline of integrity.

Esther’s rise to the palace was not impulsive. It was measured. She listened to counsel. She honored process. She didn’t demand visibility; she stewarded preparation.

Influence without integrity collapses under pressure.

Scripture says in Proverbs 10:9, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.” That kind of security cannot be faked. It is built.

In seasons when you feel unseen, it’s tempting to crave recognition. But recognition is fragile if character is underdeveloped.

I’ve had seasons where I wanted the platform more than the process. Where I felt ready for expansion but overlooked the refinement required to carry it.

Authority is not volume.
It is weight.

And weight is built in private.

Integrity shows up in:
• How you handle correction.
• How you treat people who cannot benefit you.
• How you steward small assignments.
• How you speak when no one applauds.

Being chosen does not exempt you from discipline.
It demands it.

If you desire lasting influence, ask yourself:

Am I developing the character that can sustain what I’m asking God for?

Before you pursue visibility, pursue integrity.

This Weeks Writing Prompt:
